Awards are nice, but the main thing is; do they help our clients? They do when the client is someone like Wood Stabilizing Specialists, & the recognition is from somebody like International Knife Directory which named Wood Stabilizing Specialists as a 1998 IKD Sharp Site Award Winner in the category of "Suppliers."
writing the web for better search engine indexing: If you're a business or professional who delivers quality products or services and serves customers or clients whether they are local, regional, national, or international, and you've been in business for more than a couple of years, it's unlikely you do not have some kind of web presence (unless you're just getting started). But, it may not be doing as effective a job as you think it should. One of the primary concerns clients express to us concerns the findability of information; whether potential customers or clients will even find their site with anything approaching a relevant keyword search. There are NO guaranteed methods or tricks that will get any web site to the top of the list on the different web indexes and directories (other than paid banners) nor do we advise clients on strategies specific to web index/search engine profiling. (Many so-called SEOs or Search Engine Optimazation firms that stress programming tricks over editorial content can, in fact, just end up hurting your site -- see the Salon.com feature story, Dot-com noir, for a sordid & cautionary tale.) Yet we manage to get many of our client sites on the 1st page of Google, MSN, & other popular web indexes, for search strings based on relevant keywords used by clients or customers in searching for our client's products or services. While we probably focus a bit more on Google, which currently indexes close to 2,500,000,000 web pages, than some of the others because it is clearly one of the ascendent and more popular web indexes and because is based on a logic that we think makes sense (inherently reflecting the "semantic web" concept), a successful indexing in Google will usually be echoed by successful indexing in most other dominant web indexes. The following represent just a few of the sites developed, maintained and hosted by parsonsnet.com/BatWorks™ Creative Group & Zipweb.net consistently showing up on the 1st or 2nd page of results on Google and other primary web indexes for searches using relevant keyword search strings. Relevant search strings are hyper-linked for instant Google searches for those keywords.

Tricks others have used in the past, like "meta-tag spamming", are anathema to web users searching for information, products, or services, and their use can actually result in your page(s) being excluded from many of the predominant web indexes. Graphics, Flash, and other multi-media content can add eye appeal and enhance the visitor's experience, but these do not by themselves convey information or insure "findability". Achieving positive results is an ongoing process that requires thought and revision. We achieve it by adding meaning within the context of markup, not by clicking on submit buttons. You cannot hire us to tell you how to get your page(s) to index better but you can hire us to do what it is we do that actually works.
Everybody with a web site gets hit with spam or UCE/UBE promoting search engine submissions and "guaranteed placement". They want you to pay a fee up front after which they promise to submit your site to hundreds of search engines which either do not really exist or they really just function by searching other primary web indexes. The fact is, it's the semantic structure of the page that most assuredly results in successful indexing. This is as it should be. If, for example, you're searching for a Mustang for a parts or donor car for a Ford Shelby Cobra kit car project, you should not necessarily get Aunt Bessie's home page on AOL/members showing her '65 Mustang that her son rebuilt. You should get a dealer's page with available vehicles or, at least, get a page that links to someone with available vehicles. Mostly, we serve small businesses and professionals. Initial consultations or evaluations re page editing/revision are at no cost to clients. Send us your URL and supply us with a description of your product or service, a brief summary of who your customers are, & specific terms they are likely to use to find you. We'll review your existing site/page(s) and if we think we can revise or edit your text and/or markup to improve your overall indexing we'll advise you accordingly. We'll quote you our fee and if you agree, you will make payment in full to our escrow account where the funds will remain, drawing interest, until such time as, A) the six months are over, or, B)your site or page appears in the 1st 10-20 results on Google for search strings using your defined keywords. If, after the six (6) months are past, and edited pages are still not appearing in the 1st 10-20 results for your search terms, you will get your money back. If, at any time during this period, your site appears in the 1st 10-20 results on Google for the specified key search terms, the fee will immediately be payable to us. During this period, neither you nor your regular webmaster or staff will edit or revise the html of any specificly edited page. If changes in text or other information need to be made during this period, you will advise us or send us the changes and we will make them. You would only be charged a minimal revision/update fee (particulars included with evaluations/proposals). If anybody else, with your authorization, edits the revised html or text during this period, the fee becomes payable to us. This, of course, would not apply in the event your page was hacked or breached in some other way. Other than providing us with examples of the language your clients or customers tend to use, the fee is agreed upon and deposited and you've provided us with the login/password so we will proceed to edit your html on your server. That's all you need to do. Of course you can always consider transfering your site to parsonsnet.com/BatWorks™ Creative Group & Zipweb.net on one of our permanent full time management and hosting options and that way, you benefit from our semantic approach to content development, experience, and secure, scalable, Linux hosting solutions on a continuing basis. Either way, parsonsnet.com/BatWorks™ Creative Group & Zipweb.net is a smarter solution for small to medium sized business searching for professional web site management.
We want clients who focus on quality. Part of this means, they deliver what they advertise. To take us up on this and see if we can do what we advertise, simply contact us: We will need your URL and a list of key search terms you believe should apply to your product, service, or information. And, of course, your name, your company, address, and phone number. We'll reply with a no-obligation evaluation & proposal and whether or not we think we can improve your results.
